It is Sunday and the family didn't go out for breakfast at the street side food stalls. So, I was thinking about having pain perdue to start the day. It is suuuper easy and, of course, super yummy!
Yet, after checking out the ingredients, what I had were only:
I had no cinnamon powder which usually put in the original pain perdue recipe. So, I simply added things I could find in the fridge, like:
- grated parmessan
- McCormick's All Italian Seasonings
How I did it?
- In a
medium bowl, whisk together the egg and the milk. Add salt, pepper powder, grated parmessan and McCormick All Italian Seasonings. Whisk the mixture until well
blended and pour into a shallow bowl.
- Dip in the bread to the mixture. (I used 2 slices of white bread and cut them into triangle shapes)
- Heat a non sticky frying pan and set the fire to low.
- Fry the slices of bread until slightly brown.
Actually, you can have your French Toast with anything you want, like maple syrup or berries. However, today I'd like to have mine with a sunny side up which yolk is a bit rare so i could dip my toast into it. Serve best with a cup of Jasmine Tea. Have a nice breakfast!
